Comcast, a leading cable and cellular communications provider, retained Daroff Design to provide a full scope of architectural and interior design services for their relocation into this 4-floor 85,000 square foot high rise headquarters. The Arts and Crafts design theme was requested by Ralph Roberts, Comcast's Chairman, in contrast to the high-tech network of cable, data, communications and multimedia industry archival elements. All were blended together in this highly successful headquarters. |
| Completed in 1988, this project was one of the first high rise renovations in Philadelphia engineered for state-of-the-art fire safety code compliance. Ironically, a disastrous fire (which began on a lower floor) fully involved this building, until the fire reached the Comcast floors and was extinguished by the sprinkler system designed by Daroff Design Inc and their consulting engineers. |  |
